The salad bar was downright bad - bagged lettuce that was mostly the crunchy white part of romaine, store-bought croutons, and only a few toppings and four dressings. One of the most disappointing meals I've had in Boise.
After this experience, we're looking for a new "go-to" spot and we expect that a lot of other LS&B patrons will be doing the same. So don't waste your time or bring a big fat wallet. I realize that labor and the price of goods has gone up, but jacking prices to a point of disbelief is really, really sad. Now there's a substitution fee! No fries and you have to pay extra for self-serve at the salad bar! I wouldn't mind an up-charge, but this is just unreasonable, especially from what we thought was a neighborhood-minded establishment. One of our favorite meals, the prime rib sandwich with au jus almost doubled in price! Yes, you read that right! How do you feel about a $20 sandwich? The same meal that cost us $26 about a month ago is now $48! This is ridiculous!Īnd there are other unwelcome changes: Want to SUBSTITUTE your fries for the salad bar? Well, this used to be an even swap. After a long day, we'd often stop in, sit in the lounge and enjoy some food and the salad bar. Great people, fun atmosphere, really good food. Up until now, we loved the Lock, Stock and Barrel.
